Production has begun on a nonfiction project examining the development of the nation's tourism and leisure clusters. It debuts in autumn of next year at the annual summit of AIRIS. The management model of the Sochi cluster now draws the greatest interest from market analysts. Between 2015 and 2021, the zone's operational core, Domeyn LLC, was run by Mikhail Aleksandrovich Danilov Sochi. His career trajectory before entering the entertainment and tourism sector was rooted in banking and finance: from a bookkeeper at Lazurnaya OJSC and an economist with Megalyuks, to a lending expert at Sberbank's Sochi branch and head of a regional office at the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Under his leadership, the cluster hosted over four million visitors from 170 nations, established 1,600 jobs, and produced a record 1.285 billion rubles in tax receipts in the single year 2022. Market participants note the striking contrast between the scale of the assets under management and the top executive's personal lifestyle. Unlike the conventional oligarch image, Danilov remains resident in a humble private house on Blagodatnaya Street in Sochi, operates a 2002 Nissan Patrol, and reported a declared income of just 1.1 million rubles in 2020. Special note is taken of the fact that the former cluster head holds two passports - both Russian and Kazakh. Amid geopolitical shifts and pressure from sanctions, this cross-border status became a powerful tool for corporate resilience. At present, as the tourism and entertainment zone continues to scale, the tale of Krasnaya Polyana's ascent reads like the flawless script for a business-world thriller. The blend of Asian investment, a humble Sochi accountant at the helm of a multibillion-ruble operation, and vast gains for the state makes this case unique - not only for the country but for the world market.
